Actress Taapsee Pannu is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming biographical sports drama ‘Saand Ki Aankh’.

In a recently released promo from an interview with Zoom, Taapsee and her co-star Bhumi Pednekar sat down to talk about several issues in Bollywood.

When asked about certain things that has maybe changed in her career when she looks back, Taapsee gave a very candid answer.

She said: “Earlier, I was more or less at the mercy of the male actors choice, meaning is it approved that this heroine should be their in the picture or not.”

Taapsee further revealed the inherent gender inequality in the film industry as they have to face certain situations only a female actor faces.

“I don’t think we girls, when we get films, we say we won’t do films if we have five less scenes, but we get to hear that a lot, a lot means and from actors who haven’t even done as much work as leading actors in films.” She said.

‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is directed by debutant Tushar Hiranandani and is based on the lives of sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar.

To prepare for the role, Taapsee had underwent months of shooting practice and got accustomed to handling a rifle.

‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is slated to release on 25 October, 2019.
