Actress Taapsee Pannu is nowadays busy promoting her upcoming sports biographical film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’.

She has another reason to smile as the government of Rajasthan has exempted the film for tax.

Taapsee shared a picture on her Instagram profile as a story, thanking the Rajasthan government for this move.

The picture had a statement saying that the state’s chief minister, Ashok Gehlot has exempted the film of SGST since its based on women empowerment.

Taapsee wrote: “Such a proud moment for all of us #SaandKiAankh

Thankful that before the release itself Rajasthan government has extended this support.”

‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is directed by debutant Tushar Hiranandani and stars Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles of sharpshooters.

The film is based on the lives of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, who started sharpshooting in their 60s and are the oldest shooters in India.

To prepare for the role, Taapsee underwent shooting training for months and got accustomed to handling and operating a rifle.

The film got embroiled in ageism controversy after Neena Gupta had urged film-makers to give the roles of her age to people of that age group.

‘Saand Ki Aankh’ is produced by Reliance Entertainment, Nidhi Parmar and Anurag Kashyap and is scheduled to hit the silver screens on 25 October, 2019.
