Actor Taapsee Pannu has had quite an eventful year with four releases in the form of Badla, Game Over, Mission Mangal, and Saand Ki Aankh. While her performance was appreciated in all of them, Badla and Mission Mangal crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. The actor has now bagged another big film. She is all set to play a leading role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali production.
A source close to the development told news agency PTI that the film is titled Sia Jia and Pannu will be seen playing a double role in it. “This will be her first double role. It is very interesting and different kind of film. The film will go on floors next year,” the source said.
There is no information about the other cast members and the plot of the film available yet. The film’s title suggests it might be a modern take on the classic story of identical twins who are separated at birth and grow up with different temperaments. The concept has been the basic premise of a number of Bollywood films including Hema Malini starrer Seeta Aur Geeta and Sridevi starrer ChaalBaaz.
Sia Jia will be produced by Bhansali under his banner Bhansali Productions along with Shabina Khan. The duo had previously collaborated on Akshay Kumar-starrer 2012 film Rowdy Rathore.
