Yet to find definition of being A-list: Taapsee Pannu!

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu says that she is still finding the definition of being an A-list. She rose the popularity with her movie ‘Pink’ which she did along with the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. Later, she appeared in the movies like ‘Naam Shabana’ and her recently released movie ‘Judwaa 2’. She believes that after giving three big hits she is still not able to crack the code of being an A-list in the Hindi film industry.

This year has been very great for the actress Taapsee because her first movie ‘Naam Shabana has counted as one of the highest grossing female-centric movie and her recently released movie ‘Judwaa 2’ has also received the great response at the Box Office. However, she still wonders that she has not been counted among the top.

She says that she is yet to find out the definition of being an A-listed actress. She believes that as an actress she is very happy that the makers of the movies are offering her the good roles and she is earning the success critically and commercially. What really bothers her that when the fashion designers say that she can not be their muse or their show stopper. They want A-listers actress for their show and for this collection.

Same things happen to her with the brand endorsements as well. Moreover, she says that she is all ready to give the entrance exams of the A-list actresses. Taapsee wants somebody should please tell her the formula because she does not know. Earlier Taapsee was working in the South industry now she has moved on to the Hindi film industry to try her luck. She started her career in the Bollywood film industry in 2013 with the movie ‘Chashme Baddor’ and later she played many roles in the movies like ‘Baby’, ‘Running Shaadi’, ‘The Ghazi Attack’, ‘Pink’, ‘Naam Shabana’ and recently she did a movie with a title ‘Judwaa 2’, where she featured along with the actor Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez.

While remembering her old days in the Telugu film industry, Taapsee says that when she started her career some of the movies which she did has failed at the Box office and the makers of the movie have stopped casting her by saying that she is bringing the bad luck for the movies. However, she feels that the funny thing was that in those movies her contribution was nothing except three songs and five scenes. She has seen so much failure in the South movies now she believes that one can not control the success rate.

Moreover, she believes that does not matter how you performed in a movie what matters is the Box Office result matters a lot at the end and she finds weird that she does not know the formula of that. She feels that she is very lucky that she has worked in both the commercially as well as the content-driven movies. She believes that it is an actor’s responsibility to find the balance because the industry is all time ready to give you a tag in no time.

When asked from the actress that her successful portrayals are always been those of women with a fighter instinct. Does it be a conscious choice that she did a women-centric movie? On this Taapsee said that earlier she did not get an opportunity to do women-centric movies and she feels that she is a very natural fighter instinct that the makers of the movies have noticed that and offered her the roles in the movies like ‘Baby’ and ‘Naam Shabana’ because such movies require the need of the toughness and actions.

However, she believes that she is an outspoken person in her real life. Taapsee says that there is one thing which she fails to understand that why people feel that those women which are portraying the ornamental roles in the movies do not require artistic skills. She says that for the actress looking good is also a great task and she says that there are plenty of girls with a well-maintained body, but all those girls will able to walk the beachside in front of the camera wearing a swimsuit.

Taapsee says that the actress has an art to carry their bodies in a certain manner and that is their need to learn that and she believes that the people should respect that perform equally as they do glam, realistic performance in the movies. On the work front, Taapsee Pannu is currently gearing up for the movie with a title ‘Mulk’, which will be directed by Anubhav Sinha. The movie will also feature Rishi Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Prateik Babbar.
