After recently foraying into the world of television series with Mira Nair’s BBC series A Suitable Boy, Tabu has gone on to try something different yet again. The Haider actor has recently collaborated with director Anurag Kashyap for his audio show Thriller Factory on Amazon’s Audible Suno app.
She has lent her voice to one of the ten episodes of the show which is being touted as a homage to Hindi mystery novels. Her episode is reported to be a gangster drama titled Kala Gulab that follows a young woman stuck in a trap.
Known for her capability of emoting through eyes, Tabu found it interesting to emote only through voice without any visuals.”We all have grown up listening to fairy tales from our elders. The power of stories has always intrigued me as has the [role of] voice in making it interesting,” she told Mid Day.
She further added, “When you are in front of the camera, you have to act in a particular way or follow the director’s vision. With the audio format, you can say the same thing in different ways,” shares Tabu, before quipping, “We also don’t have to care about hair and make-up, which is a relief!”
Thriller Factory will have a different actor voicing each of its 40-minute episodes. The actors featuring in the show will include names like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sachin Khedekar and Sapan Saran.
