Tamil remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu starrer ‘Pink‘ was officially launched on Friday in Chennai. For the first time, Boney Kapoor will produce a Tamil movie. However, the name of the movie hasn’t been revealed yet but Ajith will be seen playing the lead role in the film.

Boney Kapoor revealed that it was his wife Sridevi’s wish to produces a film with Ajith, in Tamil. He said, “While working with Ajith in ‘English Vinglish’, Sridevi had expressed her desire that Ajith does a Tamil film for our home production. Nothing exciting came up till one day last year, Ajith suggested remaking ‘Pink’ in Tamil. She immediately agreed as she thought it was the most appropriate and timely film to make and Ajith would bring all the elements required to make it into a great Tamil film.”
Ajith made a special appearance in Tamil version of ‘English Vinglish’.
Talking about producing a Tamil film for the first time, Boney said, “Tamil industry has always been special for me. In fact, it’s been a long journey involving Ajith to collaborate for a film, which he took up as a sheer commitment from the time he shared screen space with my wife in ‘English Vinglish’. Accordingly, we both earnestly searched for suitable content that will add a special mileage to our respective works. We are now delighted to have joined hands for ‘Pink’.”
Boney Kapoor also revealed his plans of working with Ajith in another movie also after the remake of ‘Pink’. The other details have not been shared.
The film will be directed by Nirav Shah and Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose music for the film. The film will be released on May 1, 2019.
