Taylor Swift’s Folklore has returned to no.1 on the Billboard 200 for the eighth non-consecutive week and has also become the first album to sell a million copies in the U.S.A.

The songs for the album were written by the artist during the COVID-19 pandemic and the album was released in July 2020.

The song genre range from indie-pop, electro-folk, alternative-rock, and chamber pop sounds.

It is the ninth album by Taylor Swift that has sold a million copies in the U.S after Lover, released in 2019.

Folklore has become the best-selling album of 2020 and also surpassed Whitney Houston and Adele’s Billboards records in women.

While Whitney Houston had conquered the charts for 46 weeks, Taylor surpassed the total with 47 weeks, with Adele not far behind with 34 weeks.

Billboard also reported the spike in sales due to the giveaways of the autographed CDs from her web store.
