Tollywood is planning to remake the Bollywood hit ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’. But as per sources, the script of the original film will be twisted in such a way that it touches Telugu audience.
Rights of the remake have been acquired by two production houses Kona Film Corporation and People Media Factory. Kona Venkat, well-known screenwriter and founder of Kona Film Corporation, confirmed the news saying, “I along with People Media Factory are remaking it.” Director and the cast of the remake of ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ are still under process. An official announcement of the same will be done soon.
‘Bareilly Ki Barfi‘ starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkumar Rao in lead roles and was directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari. It was released in 2017. The story was based on the French novel “The Ingredients of Love”, written by Nicolas Barreau. The film won two Screen Awards, three Zee Cine Awards, two Films of India Online Awards, two Filmfare Awards and one International Indian Film Academy Awards for best screenplay.
