One of the most talented choreographers of Bollywood Terence Lewis has been honored by a doctorate degree in Performing Arts and Dance by National American University in the Alliance with National Institutes of Education and Research, Asia.
The contemporary dance specialist took to Instagram to share the pictures from the ceremony and captioned it, “About last night! This May marks 21 (legal)years of me teaching dance n starting with a singular mission: to bring back the dignity n respectability of dance as a profession n raise the level of dance in this country through a structured training program for dancers n teachers, that didn’t exist then! It’s been a long arduous fulfilling journey and last evening, I was conferred with the official doctorate, an honorary degree for my extensive work in the field of Performing Arts n Dance by the National American University in association with the National Institute of Education n Research ( NIER) India! I’m still getting used to the title of Dr Terence Lewis and am amused at the sound of it, though I have to admit, my first career choice in college, being an academically bright science student, was to get into Medicine, but thank goodness, I lost my admission into medical school by 5 marks then! This, in a way, is divine Serendipity! Thank you to all my students n teachers who have worked equally very hard to make me who I am today! In my felicitation n recognition of this title, vicariously you are also entitled n want to share my honour with you!
