The makers of the unconventional  tv show, ‘The Boys’, are coming back again with a new season of the show. Amazon prime has announced its premiere date as September 4. The show is based on the comic book series of the same name.

In a depart from the trend of hailing superheros as godly and good men, the show portrays real superheroes who have gone astray. The superheros think too much of themselves and kill every notion, of how a superhero generally is. The show’s unique treatment of superheroes has been its USP.

It revolves around a bunch of vigilantes, who are assigned the role of keeping the superheroes in check. It stars actors such as Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr and Erin Moriarty among others. The executive producers are Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Kripke.

One of the producers, Kripke released a statement and said :

“We cannot wait to show you season two. It’s crazier, stranger, more intense, more emotional. In fact, it’s too much — so the Surgeon General has insisted we air the first three episodes on September 4, then air the remaining five episodes weekly after that. We wanted to give you time to freak out, digest, discuss, come down from the high, before we give you another dose. We only have your well-being in mind. Hope you love the season as much as we do.”

The first season which got critical acclaim and huge fan following, concluded with the boys separating from each other. In the second season, they are expected to come together and fight Vought International, a corporation which uses them to make money.
