Like a business needs strong and efficient employees for its growth, a Tv series also needs good actors who can bring the characters alive. Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ a saga about the British Royal Family, is that show which features some of the best actors. Continuing its tradition and aiming for growth, the makers of the show have cast another acting ‘guru’ in their team. Welsh Actor, Jonathan Pryce has joined the cast according to Deadline. 

The actor will feature as Prince Phillip in seasons 5 and 6. He’ll succeed, Tobias Menzies and Matt Smith, who played the character in early seasons.

Recently, the actor had starred in Amazon Prime video’ science fiction series ‘Tales from the Loop’. In 2019, he received an Oscar nomination for his role as Pope Francis in the film ‘Two Popes’.

Pryce is a popular actor and has starred in projects such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Game of Thrones. He essayed the role of High Sparrow in Game Of Thrones while he played Keira Kneithley’s father, Governor Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean.

Netflix’s The Crown is about Queen Elizabeth II and charts her journey from the beginning up until now. The show features different actors in the lead roles after every two seasons. Actor, Claire Foy portrayed the role of the Queen in the first two seasons while Olivia Colman took the role of the other two. The final two seasons of the show will feature Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II.

Actor Jonathan Pryce is also the recipient of two Tony awards. In 1977 he received the first for his broadway debut in ‘Comedians’ while the second came in 1991 when he played The Engineer in ‘Miss Saigon’ a musical.

As Jonathan joins the cast of the show, it looks like he’ll make the show more formidable and intriguing.
