toilet ek prem katha movie review

Bollywood’s most awaited movie “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘ has finally released today. The movie which is directed by Shree Narayan Singh co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The movie features Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher, and Sana Khan in supporting roles.

The main motive of the movie is to focus on the important subject of building and using toilets in the country. Well! The movie begins up with Keshav (Role played by Akshay Kumar) being a ‘Manglik’ boy will have to marry a buffalo to get his stars in order. Then he suddenly meets Jaya (Role played by the Bhumi Pednekar) women from his neighboring village in Uttar Pradesh and a college topper. As soon as he saw Jaya he falls in love with her. In the movie Akshay’s joke with Divyendu Sharma is hilarious and his comic timing is just right on the spot.

The makers have begun the movie by cracking jokes with rural connotations. The director unfolds the heartland story in an ordinary way where aspects like open defecation are a part of life. The movie “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” talks about a very important issue in a humorous manner. The small problem for the people of Mandgaon in the Mathura region of Uttar Pradesh slowly snowballs into a major social evil.

After marrying to Jaya Keshav’s life seems to be on the right track, but her life her life turns upside down when she got to know that her husband’s house has no toilet and he even can not build one because of prevalent religious beliefs. Sudhir Pandey played an outstanding role of Keshav’s father. Everything depends on him and he refuses to budge from his anti toilet stand.

Keshav has supported his wife Jaya all over the movie. Keshav has a willing to all the way for Jaya, to rebel against society. In the movie, Bhumi Pednekar aces it as a homely yet feisty bride while Akshay Kumar tries to present the issue in all its complexity. Toilet Ek Prem Katha looks promising and the film’s pace keeps the audience engaged.

Akshay is the backbone of the movie his journey as an actor dividends and the actor has delivered yet another top notch performance. The presence of veterans actors like Sudhir Pandey and Anupam Kher is unmissable. The movie has maintained both the comic timing along with the emotional outbursts altogether. As a bonus, you get a hummable soundtrack with Hans Mat Pagli, Bakheda and Gori Tu Lath Maar. Overall, this movie is a must watch!
