Total Dhamaal

The third installment of Dhamaal franchise, ‘Total Dhamaal‘ has hit the screens. The film stars Ajay DevgnAnil KapoorMadhuri Dixit NeneArshad WarsiJohnny LeverSanjay MishraRiteish Deshmukh in important roles. Indra Kumar directed the movie and is bankrolled by Fox Star Studios, Ajay Devgn Films, and Indra Kumar.

The loud comedy is full of trains ramming cars, roaring wild cats, helicopters crash landing, falling bridges and leaves a little to the imagination. The multi-starrer created a lot of buzz at the time of the trailer release, though the trailer of ‘Total Dhamaal’ received a mixed reaction from the viewers. To be honest, the film’s plot is weaker than the falling bridge we have seen in the promo. The film opens on a grand note with a title song introducing each one of them. There are many unnecessary plot twists in the film. Anil and Madhuri’s pairing is the most entertaining part of the film which brings us many LOL moments.

Anil is super hilarious with his funny Gujarati accent, while Ajay performs well in her poorly written character. Sanjay Mishra keeps on forcing humor in the film, which was super annoying. Johnny Lewer and Riteish Deshmukh’s chemistry is hilarious in the film. Boban Irani, Esha Gupta, and Mahesh Manjrekar are wasted in poorly written characters.

For an adventure comedy, ‘Total Dhamaal’ apparently has good use of VFX, but the film’s screenplay and punchlines are predictable. The first half of the movie is breezy while the second one is overcrowded with many characters in a week plot.

‘Total Dhamaal’ fails to generate a steady stream of humor, poor writing, and execution.

  1. I honestly think the same. The movie was really hyped because of the new cast that has been introduced in this movie who without a doubt have done extremely well. However, the major drawback of the film is the writing. The storyline was very predictable and the climax was rushed. The first two movies in the Dhamaal series were just extremely hilarious but this movie has kinda disappointed a lot of fans because of the storyline. No offense but the Indra Kumar’s style is a little outdated. I think majority of the poeple knew that that the story was going to be the same as the first movie that released in 2007.
