Total Dhamaal and Sonchiriya not to release in Pakistan after Pulwama attack

The makers of ‘Total Dhamaal‘ and ‘Sonchiriya‘ have announced that they will not release the movies in Pakistan post the terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama District.

”I think that given the political climate because of the terrorist attack, it is a wise call to not release our film in Pakistan. The situation is deeply tragic and we need to stand together as one nation. Cultural and social exchanges in the wake of this atrocity are unwarranted,” director (Sonchiriya) Abhishek Chaubey told a leading publication.

‘Sonchiriya’ features actors like Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey, and Ashutosh Rana. The movie is set in 1975 in Chambal, The movie revolves around Sushant Singh Rajput and Manoj Bajpayee leading a bunch of bandits struggling to make a decision about surrendering to the cops.

The makers of ‘Total Dhamaal’ announced the news through their social media handle, where the lead actor Ajay Devgn took to Twitter and He wrote, “In light of the current situation, the team of Total Dhamaal has decided to not release the film in Pakistan.”

Pulwama attacks in Jammu and Kashmir are the deadliest and heinous attacks in three decades, where 40 plus CRPF troopers were killed by a suicide bomber, who rammed a car into an army convoy on February 14.
