Toilet Ek Prem Katha trailer: Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar fight for love, toilets and more

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s satirical comedy ”Toilet: Ek Prem Katha‘s trailer has been released on Twitter.  The film is based on the importance of toilets in rural areas, film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey. The film will star Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher, and Sana Khan in supporting roles. The film is written by Sidhharth and Garima, the writers of the 2013 Hindi film ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ram Leela’.

Yesterday early morning, Akshay Kumar unveiled the trailer of his upcoming movie ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ on Twitter. He wrote, “@kingtweet20 Ek anokhi prem katha aapke liye. Here is the #ToiletEkPremKathaTrailer.”

The trailer addresses various issues like gender discrimination, sanitation issues, irrational traditional beliefs  all of it done with a dash of entertainment. The three-minute long video certainly promises to be a good entertainer.

 The trailer opens on Akshay, who plays Keshav and the only thing he dreams of is getting married until he meets Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) and falls in love. While Keshav is a simple person, Jaya is a broad-minded and a progressive thinker. All’s well in their lives, till Jaya, after marriage, is introduced to the lota gang by the women of her house.  However, she fights back along with Keshav. Going against all odds, Keshav and Jaya attempt to bring a change in their family’s thought and take on a political battle over open defecation and sanitation.
Toilet: EK Prem Katha‘ is all set to release it on August 11.
