Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ had an honorable run at the Indian box office and it is still running even in its ninth week. The first blockbuster of the year is only behind historical blockbusters like ‘Gadar’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.
In spite of tough competition, reduced screens and shows, and several footfalls along its run, the film is standing strong at the box office. The film has now collected nearly ₹242.50 crores and is slowly inching towards the ₹245 crore net mark.

According to the Box Office India, the film’s 28-day business is better than some of the last year’s big films like ‘2.0’ (Hindi), ‘Baaghi 2’ and ‘Thugs of Hindostan’.
The film has done a huge business overseas as films made around Kashmir or Pakistan issue tend to be a no show for the huge Muslim audience overseas. But the film had managed to collect ₹273 crores worldwide.
Aditya Dhar directorial has been financed by Ronnie Screwvala and it stars Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal, and Kirti Kulhari.
The film opened up to positive reviews from the audience. The opening day was good news for the filmmakers as it managed to collect ₹8.20 crores on day-1.
Aditya Dhar’s war drama incorporates all the ingredients of a masala entertainer. Where Vicky Kaushal plays a Para (Special Forces) Commando. ‘Uri’ is receiving some competition from The Accidental Prime Minister but still has earned a good amount of ₹8.20 crore on its opening day.
