uri- the surgical strike

The trailer of Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri‘ is released on Wednesday and the saga of Indian soldiers preparing for a war, that they didn’t even start, will definitely give goosebumps to any Indian. The action-packed trailer is enough to make you proud of our Indian army.

‘Uri’ is based on the surgical strike on terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LOC). It was carried out by the Indian Army’s special force, in response to the terrorist attack in a base camp in Uri, which killed 19 unarmed Indian soldiers. The film also shows the important roles of women in the Indian army.

Written & Directed by Aditya Dhar, produced by Ronnie Screwvala and presented by RSVP movies ‘Uri’ also stars Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari in significant roles.

In an interview, the filmmaker said, “This is the story of what happened in those eleven days. It’s an honour and very reassuring to be backed by Ronnie Screwvala and to execute on this vision and what we believe is an engaging and thrilling story inspired by this true-life incident.”

The lead actor, Vicky Kaushal, shared his experience about the movie, “When you play the role of a commando onscreen, you feel that they are the real heroes. In our effort to portraying their character, we get exhausted but they are living their lives like that on a daily basis so hats off to them and it’s not easy what they are doing.”

Vicky Kaushal has received a lot of admiration for his roles in ‘Masaan’, which earned him IIFA and Screen Awards for Best Debut of the year and his role in ‘Sanju’ earned him an award in Indian Film Festival in Melbourne for Best Supporting Performance.

The film will release on January 11, 2019.
