Aditya Dhar’s directorial ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike‘ had a huge second Friday which was not far off from its first-day figure. The film earned ₹8 crore net on Friday and its total collection reached to ₹78 crores net in just a week.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer emerged as the first BlockBuster of the year 2019 and according to the Box Office India reports, it will probably go on to be on to be the highest grossing small grossing film ever beating ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.

As per Box Office India reports, “The Friday figure of this film is up there with some of the biggest films and the film has beaten its first-day figure in a circuit like Mumbai. This is when the first day of Mumbai itself was very good. The South had lower collections in week one due to regional films and those regional films are still going but Uri – The Surgical has managed to get more screens which has enabled collections down South to be rock steady though it is underperforming there.”

According to the biz analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet, “‘Uri’ Surpassed the first-week collections of ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, ‘Razzi’, ‘Stree’, and ‘Badhaai Ho’ in India.”

In his other tweet he wrote, “ emerges a big favourite at the ticket windows… Crosses ₹ 70 cr… FIRST SUPER-HIT of 2019″

The film stars Vicky KaushalParesh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina in pivotal roles. It has been written and directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
