Since the time of its announcement, there has been a lot of buzz around the biopic of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal of the Indian Army. Not much information was disclosed about the film that will see the coming together of Varun Dhawan and Sriram Raghavan four years after Badlapur.

Varun Dhawan who will be essaying the titular role has recently revealed some details about the film in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama. While not divulging too many details about the film, the actor called it the most important movie of his career.

He said, “It is a bit early to give any details about it but all I can say is that it is the most important movie of my career.”

He further added, “At the moment, all the research and development is going on towards this film. Sriram will start the film after due diligence only. Right now we have to visit a lot of training areas. We will have to meet a lot of people associated with Arun Sir’s life. Then we will move ahead.”

Arun Khetarpal is remembered for showing his excellent courage in the 1971 Battle of Basantar, a vital battle of the Indo-Pak war. The 21-year-old hero was honored with India’s most-prestigious and highest-standard military medal for courage and gallantry- the Param Vir Chakra, posthumously.

Talking about the 1971 war, Varun said, “There are a lot of things that happened in 1971 war that people don’t know about. And that has a lot of correlation with things happening today. It is going to be very interesting.”

“Dinesh Vijin, Maddock Films is producing the film and Sriram is directing it. Varun is Arun,” he added.
