Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan to come together for the remake of ‘Coolie No. 1’

On the occasion of Varun Dhawan‘s 32nd birthday, his director father David Dhawan and producer Vashu Bhagnani officially announced the remake of their 25 years old film ‘Coolie No. 1′. The duo will team back together for this one also, which will star Varun and Sara Ali Khan as the lead couple.

The original film which was released in 1995, starred the hit couple of that era Govinda and Karishma Kapoor, along with Shakti Kapoor, Kader Khan, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar.

“It’s official… After 25 years David Dhawan and Vashu Bhagnani come back together to adapt their timeless comedy, ‘Coolie No 1’. The film starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan begins shoot this August,” a statement from the makers read.

Jackky Bhagnani also tweeted, “Nostalgic & Excited !! We complete 25 years at @poojafilms. Extremely Happy to announce the adaptation of our first film #CoolieNo1 with my favorite David uncle, my brother
@Varun_dvn & #SaraAliKhan! Cannot wait for this mad journey to begin!”

The remake of ‘Coolie No. 1’ will mark the second collaboration of father-son duo Varun and David Dhawan after ‘Judwaa 2‘.

Varun had his last release ‘Kalank‘ last week, which is not doing good at the box office and striving to survive. While Sara was last seen in the last blockbuster of 2018 ‘Simmba’ opposite Ranveer Singh.
