Last time when actor Vicky Kaushal, director Aditya Dhar, and producer Ronnie Screwvala came together, they delivered the first blockbuster of the year 2019 ‘Uri- The Surgical Strike‘. The trio is teaming up again for the movie titled ‘Ashwatthama’.

According to Hindu mythology, Ashwatthama was a character in Mahabharat. He was the son of Guru Dronacharya and grandson of sage Bharadwaj. Guru Dronacharya was the guru of the Pandavas and of the Kauravas.

Ashwatthama fought the battle with Kauravas, against the Pandavas and considered an avatar of one of the eleven Rudras and one of the seven Chiranjivi. Ashvatthama is believed to be a living survivor of the Kurukshetra War and is said to be immortal.

The makers RSVP Movies shared on Twitter, “Continuing to keep character in Mahabharat the josh high, team #URI is back with #Ashwatthama!”

The Uri actor also shared the news on his Instagram story.

Last year Vicky’s performance in Manmarziyaan, Sanju, Lust Stories and Raazi won him several accolades and wide acclamation.

Vicky Kaushal will play the titular role in the film. Besides ‘Ashwatthama’, Vicky has several other projects like ‘Takht’ and Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh biopic coming up this year.

‘Ashwatthama’ is scheduled to release in mid-2020.
