Vidya Balan is an actress who is credited for changing the course of the industry in the way women were represented in films.

She recently shared a video glimpse on her Instagram profile, celebrating the World Mathematics Day. It had Vidya as mathematician Shakuntala Devi, which she plays in its biopic.

Shakuntala Devi was a writer and a mental calculator; she was popularly known as a human computer.

Her amazing mathematical skills earned her a name in The Guinness Book of World Records in 1982.

The film, ‘Shakuntala Devi’, is co-written and directed by Anu Menon and stars Vidya Balan in the title character. While Sanya Malhotra plays her daughter, Anupama Banerji.

The shooting began in September this year and the film is expected to release in the summer of 2020.

Vidya’s last film, ‘Mission Mangal’, saw her play the role of an ISRO scientist who is juggling between her personal and professional life.

The film, directed by Jagan Shakti, had an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha and Nithya Menon. It proved to be a major critical and commercial success.

Apart from feature films, Vidya has also turned producer for the short film ‘Natkhat’, in which she will also act.
