Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming biopic on Captain Vikram Batra has got clearance from the Ministry of Defence, while Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena biopic is still waiting for a green signal. According to Mumbai Mirror report, while script and title (Kargil’s Sher Shah) of Vikram Batra’s biopic have been approved by Ministry of Defence, Janhvi’s film is yet to get a go-head.

The title of the Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Vikram Batra biopic has been green-lit by the MoD. “It’s called Kargil’s Sher Shah. Both the title and the script have been cleared. The team has now submitted the list of shoot locations for the go-head,” a source revealed.

Co-producer of the Batra biopic Shabbir Boxwala, explains that if you are making a film on defense personnel, besides permission from the family, MoD clearance on every aspect is vital. “We have submitted all requisite paperwork. The title and script have been cleared,” he said.

While Janhvi Kapoor starrer without getting a clearance went on floors weeks ago. Angad Bedi is playing her sibling while Pankaj Tripathi will portray her father on the big screen.

Speaking about Janhvi, Pankaj told IANS, “I liked the character very much. I am having a lot of fun while shooting for the film. Janhvi is a very sincere actress. She respects me a lot and I too respect her for the sincerity and commitment towards her work.”

About the film’s director Sharan Sharma he said, “Sharan is a very talented director and is well versed with his craft. It’s an opportunity to work under Dharma Productions.”
