The trend of making biopics in Bollywood, whether of historical characters or the living ones, doesn’t seem like ending in near future. The film industry likes to portray the real-life stories on the big screen and make big money out of it because usually, the audience responds positively to such stories.

There is news going around in the Bollywood alleys that filmmaker Omung Kumar is planning to make a biopic on the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. However, the official announcement hasn’t been made but according to the reports, Vivekanand Oberoi (Vivek Oberoi resumed back his original name) will play the role of PM in front of the camera.

The film will be shot across Gujarat, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, among other parts of the country. The title of the movie is yet to be decided. Omung Kumar, who made a biopic on Mary Kom, by the same name and directed Sanjay Dutt starrer ‘Bhoomi‘ last year, is working on the story, script, and screenplay since last one and a half year. He even got the permission from the authorities for the film and it will go on floors very soon.

Oberoi was last seen in Tamil film ‘Vivegam’ in 2017 and he is currently busy with a Malayalam film ‘Lucifer’, a Telugu film ‘Vinaya Vidheya Rama’ and a Kannada film ‘Rustom’. The teaser of the first one and trailer of the second is out.

The trend of biopics started with the birth of Bollywood and the first biopic was made in 1913. It was the first full-length silent feature film based on the legend of Raja Harishchandra recounted in the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
