An Indian actor Rajkummar Rao says that he was not affected by his recently released movie ‘Newton’ controversy which has been selected as India’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar nomination. The movie is directed by Amit V Masurkar and produced by Drishyam Films. The movie features Rajkummar Rao as Newton Kumar, Pankaj Tripathy, Anjali Patil, and Raghuvir Yadav. The movie released on September 22.
According to the reports, there were some reports in the Bollywood town that there are some similarities in the plot of Iranian movie titled ‘Secret Ballot’. However, the comparisons were put the rest by the makers of the movie. An actor Rajkummar has not been affected by the controversy of Newton because he very well knows that they are two different movies. He knows the movie from the script. He feels very happy that those who put the question and have created the controversies, now they all have got an answer when the producer of the movie made a statement mentioning that the movie is totally different from the Iranian movie ‘Secret Ballot’.
However, Rajkummar Rao is currently gearing up for his upcoming comedy movie ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’, which is directed by Ratnaa Sinha and produced by Vinod Bachchan. The movie features Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda in the lead. In this movie, actor Rajkummar Rao will be seen essaying the role of a boy-next-door.
The story of the movie will revolve around the two young people. The movie will also show that how the intimacy between both the lead actors grows and both of them decides to get married. But later, Aarti Shukla (the character played by Kriti) decides to follow her dreams and she part ways from Satyendra (the character played by Rajkummar Rao). This leaves Satyendra heartbroken and now he has only one aim in his life that he wants to take revenge from Aarti. However, the movie’s story will rise from the cultural roots of Uttar Pradesh and the movie is all about the two ordinary middle-class people.
An actor Rajkummar says that his character has a journey that will travel the phase from a college pass out. Later he falls in love with a girl and then he becomes a successful, rich guy. He says that his next movie will be based on the revenge story and will also show that how love makes you do things which you do not do otherwise in your normal life. Even this movie is set in the small town milieu after his last released movie ‘Behen Hogi Teri’ and ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’.
He says that for experience is the one thing which counts first and then the number will come. He has to like the movie so that he can invest his time in that and rest the things will fall in place. He said that the movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ worked and he is very happy for that. He says that at the end of the day he is saying this thing. He feels that he should not say this but he believes that he should not have done this movie. Therefore liking the movie from his end is very important.
He really finds it interesting that well known male actors from the Bollywood industry are becoming the part of a women-centric movie, however, they are playing small but those small roles are very significant just like recently Aamir Khan played in the movie ‘Secret Superstar’ and actor Manav Kaul played in the Vidya Balan starrer movie ‘Tumhari Sulu’.
He says that this is very good and there is no harm in playing small roles in a female-centric movie if the roles are pivotal. Even he has done in the movie ‘Queen’, for him what is important is the character and not the length of it. He even says that he is open to doing such small roles in the future as well.
The movie ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ is all set to release on November 10, 2017.
