When it comes to watching movies, we have a special attraction towards the genre of suspense thrillers and mysteries. The reason is simply that these films keep us glued throughout the end due to its engaging storyline. We certainly fall in love with many characters as the film faces further and this happens when a writer writes all his characters with a neat observation. The fun part is when a director plays with different story arcs to weave a conclusion which creates a level of excitement among the viewers.
The 2019 film Knives Out is the best thriller that has been released in the past couple of years. Director- Writer Rian Johnson’s entertaining, carefully plotted storyline, the twisted mystery all throughout the film which begins as the chaotic, spoiled Thrombey family gathers together after the death of patriarch Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer), a successful fiction author who committed suicide.
What follows next is an entertaining ride filled with mysteries and a lot of interesting characters. The structure of this film is quite unique and surprising in many ways compared to other mystery films we have watched so far. The film leaves you satisfied with a charismatic cast and their performances. In the second half, Knives Out complicates things with a subplot wherein Harlan has named his nurse, Marta, to be the inheritor of Harlan’s entire estate. This is a huge surprise to everyone, Marta included, and upon this revelation, Knives Out becomes a twisted tale and we expect a lot more from it.
Definitely a film everyone needs to watch. The film stars Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas and Chris Evans in the featured roles.
