The upcoming episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai begins as Kairav questions Kartik and Naira about the date of their wedding. Kartik explains to Kairav that they’ll have to take permission before he can marry Naira. Kartik discusses about the wedding with Naira and suggests that they should run away and get married. Naira tells him to be patient.
Kartik invites her for a romantic date. They share a romantic moment and dance together. Kairav comes in the room and joins them. It’s time to decide the rings for the engagement but the family can’t decide which to choose. Kairav comes and berates them in a comedic scene. He decides to choose the rings himself.
Kartik and Naira enjoy a solitary and romantic moment on their date. Kartik gets a phone call, and Naira gets upset. But he tells her that Kairav has decided to select the engagement rings for them. They rush home, and find him in their room. Kairav is talking to Laksh on phone and has chosen two plastic rings for his parents. Naira requests Kartik to go and talk to Kairav so that he can change his mind.
Kartik tries to persuade Kairav to let someone else choose the rings, but he fails. Finally, Naira and Kartik decide to wear the rings their son has decided for them because in the end, its their love for each other that matters.
