There are two types of individuals; Trend followers and Trendsetters. Every now and then we see new trends coming and going but one trend that once came and is still in the game and I don’t think will ever go is cricketers coming into Bollywood. From Sunil Gavaskar, Ajay Jadeja to Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar all of them have tested their acting skills at least once in Bollywood.
Recently, reports have come in that Irfan Pathan is making his acting debut in the Tamil Film industry with sports-drama Vikram 58, which is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and produced by Lalith Kumar’s Seven Screen Studio.
Following the league is none other than Irfan’s friend and fellow cricketer, Harbhajan Singh, who is also set to make his acting debut in the Tamil Film industry with Dikkiloona helmed by Kartik Yogi and produced by KJR Studios and Soldiers Factory.
Santhanam will be playing the lead role in Dikkiloona and if reports are to be believed, then Santhanam will be seen playing not only double but triple roles in this film. In an interview taken recently, Kartik the director of the film revealed that he got in touch with Harbhajan through Harbhajan’s friend, and when we gave the script to him he was intrigued and agreed to be a part of the film.
Moreover, Yogi also unveiled the fact that Harbhajan who wishes to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL happens to have a special place in his heart for Tamil Nadu. So, we all are excited to see him in a Kollywood movie.
However, this is not the first time that cricketer Harbhajan Singh will appear on the big screen. Earlier, he made a special appearance in his wife Geeta Basra’s film Second Hand Husband and has also appeared for a short time in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
The principal photography of Dikkiloona would commence in the next month.
