Young actress Zaira Wasim had surprised all of us earlier when she had announced that she will be quitting film making as her faith doesn’t allow her to do this work. She is appearing for the last time in the film The Sky is Pink, and according to the makers of the film, even after this announcement, Zaira had given her complete efforts to the film.
Director Shonali Bose was all praise for the young actress in a recent interview and said that Zaira is a talented actress and we should respect her views. She said, “She is not a villain and we should not make a big deal out of this. A teenager kid says they don’t want to act in movies, I don’t understand why this is a big thing. She made that decision, she may change her decision or she may stick with it, it’s fine. We love and support her”.
Talking about Zaira’s work in the film, Shonali said, “She is our heroine. Even though she had quit film making, her commitment to the film remained intact. She still had to do the voice over for the film and as late as July, we went to Jammu and did a recording with her. She completely did her commitment with us and we had a blast and we were even closer than before”.
Shonali further said that she had talked to Zaira just three days ago and the young actress was eager to learn everything going on with the film.
Shonali also said that Zaira’s parents will be coming to Mumbai for the premier of the movie but Zaira won’t be coming.
