Zayn Malik, the former member of boyband One Direction, is one of the biggest names in the music industry currently with hits like Pillowtalk and Dusk Till Dawn under his credits. The handsome 25-year-old created an uproar on social media yesterday as he was on the cover of his first Indian fashion magazine, Elle India.
Shooting with the Zayn Malik, Elle’s fashion editor Rahul Vijay said, “I kept the mood true to his rock ‘n’ roll personality and the choice of clothes was a mix of bomber jackets, denim, sharp suits and lots of prints, and textures.”
He went on to talk about how he did not know much about Zayn before. “I hadn’t heard his music before… I just knew of him as a pop star who was dating Gigi Hadid. I would sometimes play his tracks in preparation for the shoot while doing call-ins.”
Zayn who shot for Elle India in Manhattan told the magazine’s Fashion Editor Rahul Vijay about his love for India. Vijay said, “He loves Indian food and claims his mom makes the best Indian food around. He loves Shah Rukh Khan, he’s even made Gigi watch Devdas, which is one of his favorites.”
King Khan will definitely be glad to know this as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Devdas remains his personal favorite as well. Bollywood Life earlier reported that “Shah Rukh was so cool, on finding out that it was Zayn Malik who his daughter adores he greeted Zayn. The ex-One D singer was surprised to see the superstar himself come up to him. He was very overwhelmed with SRK’s gesture.”
Back in 2015, the two met at the Asian Awards and SRK had shared a selfie with Malik which broke the Internet. It was the golden tweet of that year where Shah Rukh’s caption read, “This kid is so cool. May Allah bless him. Dinner time at the Asian Awards.”
