Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Zero‘ created a lot of buzz which obviously increased the expectations of the audience. But the film fails to live up to it, and there are moments which are actually disappointing.
Rags to riches story of Bauua Singh, has some of the most interesting moments which makes to feel, but then again some things doesn’t add up. Like the part from a “perfect love story of two imperfect people” to Mars mission,which is basically the whole movie.
Story: The film starts with Meerut, a city in UP, where Bauua Singh resides with his family comprising Sheeba Chaddha as his mother and Tigmanshu Dhulia as his father. Bauua, the vertically challenged Shah Rukh’s character, has a friend Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub as Guddu, who’s only job is to carry Bauua, his talent is wasted on it. Bauua set his eyes on Anushka’s character Aafia, and falls in love with her. He leaves no stone unturned to impress her. Fro singing and dancing on romantic number to giving his signature romantic pose, he does it all. Well, the love story gets another angel with the entry on Katrina Kaif’s character Babita Kumari.
Talking about the performance of the cast, everyone gave the best they could. VFX worked great for SRK, Katrina though for a short period, looks convincing in the role of alcoholic actress. But Anushka, at times looses her consistency and forget to make people believe that she is suffering from cerebral palsy, although she would have worked very hard for her character.
The plot of Anand L Rai’s directorial is not at all engaging but the film can be watched for the sake of “King of Romance” and “Baadshah Of Bollywood”, Shah Rukh Khan.
