The Lalbagh Botanical Garden hosts the flower show every year on Independence Day and Republic Day of India. The Lalbagh flower show definitely needs no introduction as it has been widely appreciated and nationally accepted. The 2014 Lalbagh flower show will definitely be special as this will be 200th  Lalbagh flower show. The flower show will be organized by the Department of Horticulture and the Mysore Horticulture Society.  The flower show will commence from 8th of August and will end on 15th August, 2014.

Every year there is a unique theme for the flower show. The theme attracts a lot of visitors, not only from the city, but also from the nearby cities. This year the theme would be Mysore Palace or Shivapura’s Satyagraha Soudha. The decision is yet to be made by the officials on the theme. The special attractions of the flower show in 2013 was the floral boat, mega hand replicas, vertical floral arrangements at Glass House, diverse floral pots display and so on.  More than 20,000 flower plants belonging to various species will be a part of the flower show this year. Carnation, Asiatic Lilly, Limonia, Agapanthus, Statice, Calla Lilly and cut flowers are some of the species that will be displayed at a separate pavilion to feed the eyes of the footfalls. The pictures of last year flower show will also be seen at the 2014 Lalbagh flower show.

The Lalbagh flower show is beauty beyond words. One has to be fortunate enough to witness these colorful flowers with the naked eyes.  The flowers are well knitted in the theme and the entire atmosphere is fragrance filled. It is a must visit event.
