Meghan Markle the Duchess of Sussex has been named the Power Dresser of the year 2019. According to global search trends and data analyzed within the last year, Markle’s style choices drove the biggest spikes, all over the media. 

Speaking of the Duchess’s influence, Lyst claims, “ Her outfits sparked, on average, a 216% increase in searches for similar pieces.” Furthermore, Lyst states that after she wore five different shirt dresses on the Royal Tour of South Africa, searches for the category grew 45% over a month. 

Meanwhile, the Club Monaco dress from the Royal Tour of South Africa sold out in less than 24 hours, following a 570% spike in searches and wearing a J Crew skirt saw a 102% increase in searches for the brand.

As per the 2018 list, Meghan was placed third behind Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. However this time, Markle overtook the position leaving Kylie at seventh while Kim didn’t make it to the top ten names. 

Other celebrities on the list included Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Lizzo and Cardi B.
