Singer, songwriter, artist, entrepreneur, fashion icon, badass there’s a long line of adjectives that can be used to describe Rihanna and the latest in the long line is Urban Luxe winner. On monday night the British Fashion Council awarded Riri in the category just months after Fenty’s clothing line launched.

The British Fashion Awards took place in London’s Royal albert Hall and presented the award for her contributions to sportswear.

The category was created to honor contemporary labels that elevate the concept of casual. Last year the award was given to Off-White’s Virgil Abloh. Rihanna was previously nominated for her Fenty x Puma collaboration in 2017. Iconic singer Janet Jackson presented the award and she told Rihanna, “You’re loved for your style, you’re respected as an artist, entrepreneur, and for the first black woman to start a brand,” said Jackson.

Rihanna’s Fenty is challenging the norms of fashion and beauty world. Earlier, the Barbadian superstar’s foundation collection with more than 40 shades received an overwhelming response for more variety of shades when compared to other brands. Speaking to Time magazine Rihanna said, “Some are finding their shade of foundation for the first time, getting emotional at the counter. That’s something I will never get over.”

The singer launched an autumn/winter line of her Savage X Fenty lingerie range in 2017 with a fashion show featuring a range of diverse models irrespective of shape, size and gender. And now with her luxury fashion house, Fenty, she’s the first black woman to lead a brand under the LVMH umbrella.
