Goan food festival in Bangalore

goan-food-2Goa is just not known only for its scenic beauty and carnivals, but also the unique cuisines that are appreciated across the country. I am sure Goa would rule the mind, when we talk about holiday destination. The beaches, the nightlife, shopping and boozing are worth a mention apart from the food culture.

The cuisine of Goa is influenced by Hindu origins and four hundred years of Portuguese Colonialism. The spices are intense here as Goa experiences tropical climate. Kokum is used in most of the dishes, which is unique and healthy. The sea food is the charm of the city.  Rice and fish are the staple food of Goans. Kingfish, Pomfret, Tuna and mackerel are some of the fishes, which must be tried out by the tourists. Crabs, Prawns, lobster, mussels and squid are other variants for non-vegetarians. Chilli is the spice of every cuisine, which was introduced by Portuguese to the Goans.

Hyatt Bangalore is hosting the Goan food festival for the food lovers, to take them through the journey of rich culinary heritage of Goa. The festival will feature some of the traditional Goan dishes such as Vindaloo, Sorpotels, Balchao and Caldine. The foodies will not only satisfy their appetite, but also their taste buds with the authentic Goan flavors.
