A large number of iPhones have been sold in Amazon during the Amazon Great Indian Festive sale 2020 in one day compared to the festive season of 2019. The discount of Rs.47,999 listed for iPhone 11 made a huge impact on the sales. Amazon says that the Great Indian Festival made the biggest ever opening this time compared to any other year. It will end on 21st October. Along with smartphones, large appliances, consumer electronics under Apple, Samsung, OnePlus and Xiaomi sold a large number of products in record numbers. Online sales have risen this year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic despite a few setbacks.
People mostly searched for top-selling electronics which included smartphones, headphones, laptops, cameras, tablets and smartwatches along with security cameras and drones. Apple was leading the phone sales and laptops of Asus, HP and Lenovo were top on the list. In the segment of tablets, people mostly purchased tablets from Samsung and Apple and people looked for Link and Netgear in networking products.
The discounts were the main reason that drove people to purchase products from Amazon. Amazon said that they sold Kindle devices 2.5 times more on the first day compared to overall sales of 2019. Amazon Fire TV Stick and Amazon Echo 3rd Generation were in the list of top 10 selling products on Amazon during the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2020.
Amazon also said that there has been an increase of 85% people who registered themselves for Prime membership so that they get early access for sales this year. In terms of Alexa, devices at everyone’s home answered around 1 million requests and helped people to navigate various stores and purchases. Apart from this, 1,10,000 sellers have received orders till now.
