AMD is allegedly planning to introduce its next-generation family of 7nm based Navi gaming graphics cards at E3 with a hard launch less than a month later on the 7th of July.
The final details on AMD’s Navi line of GPUs may finally be made available at Computex 2019. This theory is based on the fact that Lisa Su, the chip-maker’s CEO, is said to give the event’s first keynote. It makes sense that this presentation may involve at least some more concrete information on the new, 7-nanometer (nm) platform.
However, newer rumors suggest that Navi is also getting a release-day event in its own right. This may be set for July 7, 2019. The company may have chosen it in order to emphasize the number in question as a theme. This could help AMD get the message of being first to 7nm in non-mobile SoCs across very well.
A July launch for Navi is highly consistent with what we have been hearing for months in the techsphere. It’s also important to remember that NVIDIA isn’t standing still and is hard at work with its own 7nm based products, rumored to be called Ampere, which are expected to make an appearance sometime later this year. But as long as AMD has the 7nm advantage you can rest assured they will play it up.
