Apple launched the iPhone XR, its lowest-priced iPhone, in India at a price tag of ₹76,900. Now, six months later, it has received an impressive price cut of ₹17,000 in the country, making the device available for ₹59,900.
The Apple iPhone XR will be available for a discounted price in India starting tomorrow, and HDFC bank card users can get an additional 10% cash back, which results in a total discount of ₹24,500.
Model | MRP | Price for non-HDFC Bank customers | Price for HDFC Bank customers |
---|---|---|---|
64GB | INR76,900 ($1,117) | INR59,900 ($870) | INR53,900 ($783) |
128GB | INR81,900 ($1,190) | INR64,900 ($942) | INR58,400 ($848) |
256GB | INR91,900 ($1,335) | INR74,900 ($1,088) | INR67,400 ($979) |
This price cut comes as a move to counter the Samsung Galaxy S10e, which has been launched in India at a starting price of ₹55,900. By lowering the price, Apple is looking forward to boosting the sales of its smartphones in India, where it has been struggling.
Apple iPhone XR comes in three variants in terms of onboard storage: 64GB. 128GB, and 256GB. All three models have been subjected to a price cut. The device features a 6.1-inch LCD panel with a resolution of1792x828-pixel resolution at 326 ppi, which Apple calls Liquid Retina display. It is powered by Apple A12 Bionic chip and is IP67 water and dust resistance.
In terms of camera, the iPhone XR comes with a single rear-mounted camera with a 12-megapixel wide angle sensor which supports Digital zoom up to 5x, Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control, Portrait Lighting with three effects (Natural, Studio, Contour), and Optical image stabilization among other features. At the front, the device has a 7-megapixel sensor with support for FaceID.
While Apple is busy competing with its rivals in terms of smartphone sales, news about the iPhone 11 has already started to flow in. The latest reports suggest that iPhone 11 will come with triple camera module at the back, the schematics of which has been leaked as well.
According to the previous leaks and reports, Apple will ship its flagship iPhones–the successors of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, with triple rear cameras while the successor to iPhone XR will come with dual rear cameras.
