Apple is reportedly set to launch two new devices in the first half of the year–an entry-level iPad and an iPad Mini 5.

A report from DigiTimes suggests that the Cupertino-based company is ready to kick off the production of two ‘entry-level’ variants of iPad, which includes the successor of the iPad Mini 4 and an upgraded version of the 2018 9.7-inch iPad. According to the report, the touch-screen supplier for the two products is set to supply the essential components.

The DigiTimes report doesn’t reveal much apart from the fact that Apple has started the production of the devices. However, another report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from last year did mention the chances of Apple producing such devices. The report also mentioned that the iPad Mini 5 will have a cheaper display and a better processor compared to its predecessor.

Another report from last month from China Times chimed in with the possibility of the upcoming devices being on the cheaper end of the spectrum, saying that the products will not feature any radical changes in terms of hardware.

Additionally, the report also added that the upgrade to 9.7-inch will come with a 10-inch display instead.

A recent report from Macrumors also suggested the launch of the devices, Apple may also announce the AirPods 2 which is said to be enclosed in a newer case allowing the earbuds to charge wirelessly.

As for the production of charging mat from Apple, various manufacturers who produce components for Apple have announced the production of AirPower has kicked off and might come to the market by the end of the year.
