Specifications and renders of the much-anticipated ASUS ZenFone 8 series have surfaced online. As per a report, ZenFone 8 series will consist- ZenFone 8 Flip and ZenFone 8. ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip comes with the trademark Flip camera module and the vanilla ZenFone 8 offers a compact form factor. Both the devices are powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset.
91mobiles and Ishan Agarwal joined hands to publish a report mentioning the specifications and renders of the upcoming ASUS ZenFone 8 series. Agarwal also shared the information on his Twitter handle.

ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip Expected Specifications
ZenFone 8 Flip is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The smartphone will run on Android 11 out-of-the-box. It could feature a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The main USP of the smartphone is the flip camera module. The camera module has a triple-camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP macro shooter. The module is attached to the device via a motorized hinge that turns 180-degrees and can be used as a front camera. The flip camera module allows the display to be edge-to-edge without any sorts of notches or punch-holes.
Almost every OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) have stopped offering motorized camera modules in their devices, however, ASUS seems to still believe in the tech. Similar flip camera modules were offered in previous generation ZenFone models- ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 6Z.
The mobile phone will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging. It weighs 230 grams. As per the leaked renders, the smartphone will be offered in two color options- Dark Grey and Silver White.
ASUS ZenFone 8 Expected Specifications
ASUS ZenFone 8 seems to offer a conventional smartphone design. The device will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone features a 5.92-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel. This confirms the compact form factor of the device.
As for the cameras, it sports a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP primary sensor and a 12MP macro shooter. At the front, the display carries a punch-hole at the top left corner for the selfie camera. Leaks suggest that the mobile phone carries a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It ships with a 3.5mm headphone jack and weighs 170 grams.

As per the leaked renders, there is no physical fingerprint scanner at the rear, we can expect an in-display fingerprint scanner on both devices and both the devices support 8K video recording.
However, these are leaks and should be taken with a pinch of salt. ASUS has scheduled a virtual event on May 12 for the global launch of the ZenFone 8 series. More details regarding the pricing and availability will be shared through the launch.
