The biggest yearly tech event has begun and every electronics company is launching its top the line products in order to stay relevant in this ever-changing technology world. CES 2019 began with the announcement of a number of new laptops from companies like Samsung, Dell, and Asus.

Here is a list of the best laptops that have been announced so far:

Asus Zenbook S13

Asus turned the tables with its recent unveiling of the Zenbook S13. The company has managed to achieve minimal bezels of 2.5mm on a 13.9-inch display which gives the device an overall 13-inch footprint making it the world’s slimmest laptop. Asus has managed to do this by reversing the notch. Unlike Dell and Huawei, who, in order to increase screen to body ratio, place the webcam in their laptops at inconvenient places, Asus has placed a notch above the display that houses the webcam. This has helped Asus to achieve 97% screen to body ratio for their Zenbook S13.

The Zenbook S13 is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor coupled with Nvidia Geforce MX150 GPU. The laptop comes in with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of dedicated storage.

Acer Swift 7

Acer has always been innovating with its Swift 7 line up and the all-new Swift 7 is no exception. The Swift 7 revealed by Acer at CES 2019 comes in with 14-inch Full HD touch display with IPS technology that ensures smooth touch interaction and crystal clear images. The laptop, not unlike its predecessors, is incredibly thin and flaunts 92% screen to body ratio. The laptop also comes in with Gorilla Glass 6 protection making it the first laptop to come in with to do so.

Swift 7 is powered by Intel’s 8th-generation Core i7 processor coupled with 16GB of RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD. Acer claims that this laptop delivers 10 hours of battery life, albeit its small size.

Samsung Notebook Odyssey

Samsung announced a contender for mainstream laptops from Dell, Lenovo, and Acer with its new Notebook Odyssey. The laptop was announced alongside Nvidia’s new GPU and will feature Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 2080 GPU. The chassis of the notebook is all metal with a 15.6-inch 144Hz (1920*1080) display.

The laptop will be powered by Intel 6 Core i7 processor coupled with 16Gb of RAM and has a slot for two NVme SSDs and one HDD. The new Notebook Odyssey is quite on a chunky side but the laptop makes good use of its thickness by employing one USB type-C port, one HDMI port, and one ethernet port.

Alienware m17

The new m17 is the lightest and slimmest 17-inch laptop Alienware has ever produced. There are a lot of choices with the new m17. The gaming laptop from Alienware comes in 3 variants in terms of the processor: Intel’s 8th-gen Core i5, Core-i7, and Core-i9. Graphics options include Nvidia’s GTX 1050 Ti, the newly announced RTX 2060, 2070 Mac-Q or 2080 Max-Q with support for up to 32GB of RAM and dual SSD, depending on the variant. Alienware is also offering two displays: a 1920*1080 60Hz panel and a 3840*2160 Ultra HD panel, also with a 60Hz refresh rate.
