Xiaomi mobile gaming division Black Shark recently teased that the company will launch its next smartphone, the Black Shark 2, with an advanced thermal management system dubbed Liquid Cool 3.0 technology. Now, the company has officially revealed the launch date of Black Shark 2. The company posted a picture on the Chinese social media site Weibo revealing that the Black Shark 2 will debut on March 18 in China. The smartphone has also been spotted on AnTuTu, packing the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC and Android 9 Pie operating system.

The teaser poster shared by the company mentions the name “Black Shark 2” at the top and March 18 launch date beneath it. The company has not revealed the hardware specifications of the device except its Liquid Heat 3.0 technology for heat management.

The Black Shark 2 is making rounds of the rumor mill under the name “Black Shark Skywalker” has also been spotted on AnTuTu with the same moniker. The device, allegedly, posted an impressive score of 359,973 points on the website. AnTuTu also revealed some of the Black Shark 2’s specifications including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 at its core coupled with Adreno 640 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The Black Shark was spotted running Android 9.0 Pie.

Black Shark has set up an experience zone in Shanghai where users can get a taste of what might be coming with the launch of the device, in order to generate hype. There was also a video posted on Twitter showcasing the gaming zone.  Xiaomi Product Director, Wang Teng Thomas, recently shared his own experience with the Black Shark 2 and described the upcoming smartphone as “very cool” and “too fast” in a Weibo post.

The Black Shark 2 was also spotted on Geekbench packing 12GB of RAM and getting its power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Reports making rounds of the rumor mill indicate that the Black Shark 2 will come in two variants packing 8GB and 12GB of RAM.
