Intel has announced its 11th gen processors and Laptops have started to get an upgrade.

It has been few weeks since Intel’s announcement of their 11th gen Tiger Lake processors. Now all the laptop companies have slowly started integrating those new chips in their laptops. Dell’s upcoming XPS 13 lineup will now consist of Intel’s 11th gen processors.

The 11th Gen chips offer better performance-per-watt than their predecessors, translating to either faster computing or longer battery life for the same performance. There is a massive upgrade in the graphics performance. The 11th gen processors will have the new Xe graphics, which are much better than the graphics on the previous processors.

Other spec improvements include support for the new Thunderbolt 4 standard (it’s still limited to 40 Gbps, and a RAM speed bump from 3,733 to 4,267 MHz. There will also be an infrared camera for Windows Hello capability.

So these were all the upgrades that the new XPS 13 series laptops will get. There won’t be any change in the design or build. All the changes are purely technical. The devices will be available in the US and Canada starting September 30, with other regions to follow in the coming weeks.
