Facebook has introduced three new models in the existing Portal series. The three new devices are Portal, Portal Mini and Portal TV.
Facebook Portal:
Facebook Portal is a device that mainly focused on hands-free video calling. Calls can be transferred seamlessly from Portals displays to phones or tablets.
Portal and Portal Mini:
The Facebook Portal and Portal Mini looks like a photo frame. The Portal Mini has a landscape orientation and it has an 8-inch display while the Portal has a vertically oriented design with a 10-inch display screen vertically. Display brightness and color are automatically adjusted to match the ambient light. Both models also have a built-in speaker.
The Facebook Portal will cost you $179 (Rs 12,750 approx), the Facebook Portal Mini is priced at $129 (Rs 9,200 approx).
Portal TV:
Facebook Portal TV works in a very unique manner instead of having its own display it’s rather a companion for your television. It sits above or below your television and uses its built-in cameras and the screen of your television for video calls.
The Facebook Portal TV is priced at $149 (Rs 10,600 approx).
Special Features of Portal Devices:
- The Portal from facebook supports Facebook Messenger and can make video calls using WhatsApp.
- A feature called Story Time is introduced especially for children of the age of a group between three and less. The Story Time play award-winning children’s books (Llama Llama, Pete the Cat, Otto). You can also watch Facebook Watch content and shows like Red Table Talk with the Portal TV.
- The Portal devices also work as photo frames, displaying your photos, videos and birthday remind from your Facebook library.
- The Portal devices can easily control by the “Hey Portal” voice command, which works in US/Canada English. All Portal devices also have Alexa built-in, so you have access to full range of Alexa skills.
