Tilt Brush

Tilt Brush, Google‘s virtual reality painting tool, is coming to Oculus’ new standalone Quest headset. Oculus Quest‘s two motion controllers would allow Tilt Brush to work as it worked on the Oculus Rift, although Google has said that it had to make some tweaks in order to enable the software to run on the Quest’s mobile processor. Google has already made available the Tilt Brush to HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

Since its launch with the HTC Vive back in 2016, Tilt Brush became the cornerstone of headset demos. Users can easily paint basic 3D structures using the Tilt Brush, however, there have also been instances where users have painted stunning pieces in the app. The Quest version of the Tilt Brush will continue to support uploads to Poly, Google’s online 3D library, for users who want to share their work or just look at other’s work.

According to Google, Tilt Brush for the Oculus Quest will release this spring, which is the timeline when Oculus Quest headset is expected to be released, although Facebook has not made an official announcement yet. Google has not revealed the pricing of the Tilt Brush app, however, users who already have bought the software from Oculus Store–where it is listed for $19.99 (roughly ₹1,400), will find their purchase transferred on to the new headset.

Meanwhile, Google has teased “something big” for the Pixel universe on May 8th.

The timing of the announcement coincides with the rumors about Google releasing essentially watered down versions of Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, and it could be expected that the company would launch Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL on May 8th.

Recently, Google itself confirmed the existence of Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL by temporarily listing the devices on its store. And May 8 conveniently accords with Google’s I/O Developer conference that is slated to kick off 7th May.
