Honor by Huawei has launched the Honor 9X in China back in July. Now, finally, the company will debut its mid-range smartphone which is powered by the new Kirin 810 SoC in India. Honor India President Charles Peng has now confirmed that the Honor 9X will come to India by the end of the year.

As we know about the ongoing cold war between China and the USA the question that hit our minds will be whether the phone will come with Google apps and services. Peng confirms that the Honor 9X will launch in India with Google Play Store access.

“We are going to launch Honor 9X by the end of this year in India. It will be on Android,” Charles Peng, President, Honor India, told Press Trust of India in an interview. Honor 9X was launched with Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1 in July, before the US government ban on Huawei. This means the Honor 9X will run on a full-fledged version of Android with access to Google apps and updates.

Honor 9X Specifications

Display: Honor 9X runs on Android 9 Pie with on EMUI 9.1.1 and features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display with 391ppi pixel density. It is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 810 octa-core processor, paired with up to 6GB RAM. Inbuilt storage is at 64GB and 128GB with the option to expand further using a microSD card (up to 512GB).

Camera: Honor 9X sports a dual-camera setup – with one 48-megapixel shooter with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is also equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera with a f/2.2 aperture.

Battery: The Honor 9X packs a 4,000mAh battery, measures at 163.1×77.2×8.8mm, and weighs 206 grams.

Connectivity: The Honor 9X has Connectivity options that include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and more. Also, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor onboard.

There is as such no information about the price and exact date of launch. In addition to the Honor 9X, the company recently announced that it will launch the Honor Vision smart TV in India early next year. The Honor Vision TV runs on HarmonyOS and touts a 55-inch 4K display and an AI pop-up camera, among other things.
