The Huawei Honor Play

Huawei Honor will be launching its new smartphone- the Huawei Honor Play today in India. The phone has already been announced in China as a gaming smartphone, is set to be launched as a performance device in India and is an Amazon Exclusive and will cost around the Rs 20,000 range.

The smartphone will be launched at an event in New Delhi at 11:45 A.M. You can follow the launch live on either through their youtube live page or on Honor India’s official Facebook and Twitter pages.

The Honor Play is powered by the Kirin 970 and features a new technology known as the GPU Turbo. Honor claims the GPU turbo will increase performance by 60 per cent and decrease battery consumption by 30 per cent. It has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD screen and has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It also has a top notch.

The phone will come in two variants- 4 GB RAM and 6 GB RAM. Both variants singular option with storage- 64GB, expandable to 128 GB through a microSD card. It will have a 16 MP plus 2MP depth sensor dual camera on the rear and a 16 MP front camera which takes spectacular selfies. Both cameras are driven by Artifical Intelligence. Honor Play comes with a feature of smart photography- identifying 22 categories and 500 scenarios in real time. The front camera is empowered by an AI algorithm that enhances selfies- soft lighting, butterfly lighting, split lighting, stage lighting and classic lighting.

The Honor play runs on Android Oreo 8.1 along with EMUI 8.2 skin overlaying it. In connectivity, the phone will have a hybrid sim slot, type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It has the face unlock feature with the AI intervention adapting to different light settings and minute facial changes. AI will also secure your notifications. it will reveal notifications only after it has recognised your face.

The smartphone is backed by a 3,750mAh battery which can run the smartphone for a whole day with a single charge. The phone also features a fast charging feature. The powerful Kirin 970 will give a next level gaming experience. The AI has a real-time image and sound recognition capabilities which will give you a 4D gaming experience with 4D shock.

Honor play will come in two colours- Midnight Black and Navy Blue. Pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but the device has already been launched in China, where it is retailing at RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 21,300) for the 4GB RAM variant and RMB 2,399 (approximately Rs 24,300) for the 6GB RAM variant.
