Apple has finally started manufacturing iPhone SE 2020 in India. Users to get huge discounts on the new models of SE2020.

Along with the iPhone X and XR, now iPhone SE 2020 joins the list of Apple phones that are being manufactured in India.

The phones will be manufactured in the Karnatak manufacturing plant by Wistron, one of Apple’s suppliers.

This would see a drop in the price of iPhone SE 2020. Previously iPhone SE 64GB was launched in India for Rs 42,500. Now it would be available at Rs 35,999. The 128 and 256 gigs variant would cost you Rs40,999 and Rs50,999 respectively. Previously it cost you Rs 47,800 and Rs 58,300.

So you save Rs8k on every variant. This discount is obviously due to the removal of 20 percent import duty tax levied on Apple by the government.

Even though you will get on the models which are manufactured in India,  Apple is still not capable of meeting the entire demand of a certain model with locally produced units.

This means there will be some imported devices in the market too. Apple started manufacturing devices in 2017. Manufacturing in India would start pretty late after the launch. SE was the first device to be manufactured in India.

As time passed Apple started to take the Indian market seriously and are trying to produce more devices in India. This would help the Indians to save some money and also boost the Apple market a bit more.

When asked about the manufacturing of SE 2020 in India, Apple said

“iPhone SE packs our most powerful chip into our most popular size at our most affordable price and we’re excited to be making it in India for our local customers.”
