Lenovo Z6 Pro

Lenovo Z6’s camera could produce 100-megapixel images, as teased by VP Chang Cheng. Cheng posted about the Lenovo Z6 Pro using a Chinese term which translates to a billion pixel, meaning a 1000-megapixel. There have been various instances where Chinese companies are seen using different numbers to represent the specifications of their device, and according to a popular Chinese tech publication, it, in fact, means 100 million pixels. The new developments come weeks after Qualcomm announced its processors to be capable of supporting more than 100-megapixel camera sensors. Such a feature is possible if the smartphone combines multiple shots of a single frame into one detailed image.

Spotted by IT Home, Cheng’s post on Weibo about the Lenovo Z6 Pro highlights the smartphones Hyper Video. Cheng uses a hashtag in a post that translates in to “billion level pixels”. According to IT Home, the hashtag translates to 100 million pixels or 100-megapixels. This has the tech department speculating that Lenovo Z6 Pro will produce large images with impeccable details, however, this is not the first time the company has promised  “beyond 100-megapixel” for Lenovo Z6 Pro. The final verdict can only be delivered after the launch of the device, which seems imminent. However, there is also a chance that all of this is fuss and the Lenovo Z6 Pro won’t be coming in with any such feature, given Cheng’s tendency to exaggerate. Cheng also posted another video showcasing the phone’s hyper videos and super macro abilities.

Details on the specifications of the Lenovo Z6 Pro are slim. The smartphone is expected to come with 5G support, however, there could also be a non-5G variant in works. As far as the performance is concerned, the company has not revealed the processor that will be powering the smartphone. It could, however, feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, similar to Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, which was launched in December last year. The device could also feature up to 12GB of RAM with 512GB of onboard storage.
