LG has launched its flagship smartphone the LG G7+ ThinQ in India. The phone is a successor to 2017’s LG G6. The South Korean Company launched G7+ earlier in May this year for a few selected markets. It will compete against One Plus 6, Asus Zenfone Z5, Vivo Nex and other smartphones in the premium smartphone range. It is set to go on sale as a Flipkart Exclusive from August 10.

Display

The G7+ has a huge 6.1-inch display FullVision display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and HDR10 support and a resolution of 3120 x 1440 px (564ppi). It has an iPhone-X like Notch display which also can be undone by using the second screen feature and customise the notifications areas, icons, display and more.

Processor and Operating System

It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The handset also has a microSD card slot, using which the storage can be expanded up to humongous 2 TB. G7+ ThinQ boots the Android 8.0 Oreo-based LG UX 7.0 out of the box.

Camera

G7+ boasts a magnificent 16 MP plus 16 MP dual rear camera. It has a decent front camera with an 8MP unit with f/1.9 aperture. The rear camera has a primary 16MP sensor has a f/1.6 aperture, and the secondary 16MP sensor is a wide-angle one with f/1.9 aperture. LG has marketed their camera’s claiming it as A.I camera as the camera app comes with a number of AI features. The LG G7+ records videos up to 2160p resolution with up to 60 fps with both rear cameras.

Design

The G7+ looks a lot similar to the LG V30S- same look, same paint job. The notch is new and the dual-camera is now vertically placed. The front camera on the G7+ ThinQ is placed at the centre of the notch between the sensors and blinking LED- light on the left and the speaker on the right. It has the power button the right of the side panel and the volume button on the left. Below the volume button, there is a button to summon the Google assistant. It is Aluminium frame with Gorilla Glass 5 on front and rear built.

Battery

The LG G7+ is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. LG states that the G7+ is Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 compatible and bundles a charger to do the job. The LG G7+ also has wireless charging support built-in.

Key Highlights

Like mentioned earlier, LG G7+ has the A.I camera, a special button for the Google assistant and wireless charging. Apart from them, it also has a trendy face unlock system, a 3.5mm headphone jack and is IP68 water and dust certified too. Another highlight of the device is the Boombox loudspeaker, which uses the empty space in the G7+’s hull as speaker chamber and thus it amplifies the sound to some extent. LG has also added 32-bit Quad DAC for enhanced audio through the earphones.

Pricing and Availability

G7+ ThinQ will cost Rs 39,990 and is available in Raspberry Rose, Moroccan Blue, Aurora Black and Platinum Gray colours. Sales begin August 10 on Flipkart and offline at retail stores.
